Food and Nutrition Handbook for Extension Workers

The Food and Nutrition Handbook for Extension Workers was designed to help extension workers and other service providers engaged in day-to-day delivery of agricultural extension and advisory services in communities understand the linkages between agriculture, food, nutrition, and health. The handbook includes general guidelines on a balanced diet (with sample recipes) and issues of food safety.

The handbook helps extension workers apply the essential nutrition actions (ENA) at the household and the community levels, appreciate the importance of agriculture in improving nutrition and the implications of malnutrition for agricultural productivity, and integrate nutrition into their work plans and routine activities.
